MORE INFO

The most outstanding aspect of the Cuba trip was seeing Fidel Castro for the first time. He's a big, bearded, bear of a man who must stand at least six feet two. His very presence creates a furor. The group I was with was composed of politically as well as personally conservative businessmen, and they fell all over themselves trying to shake his hand. Fidel handled them with grace and fine humor, and there wasn't a man in the room who didn't talk about the encounter for hours after he left. I was equally impressed. "
